Billy Talent - (Self-titled)

Already huge in Canada, Billy Talent set out to take the United States by storm. But it seems that the U.S. isn't ready to swallow the screamo/punk rock that the Canuck group has created. While achieving a small underground fan base by being on the Warp Tour and Lollapalooza, their album never reached the mainstream success in the U.S. that it did in Canada. That still won't stop lead singer Ben Kowalewicz from screaming his head off about every authority figure and girl he has ever met. His yelps are accompanied by thumping generic guitar and bass collaboration. The one interesting part of their music is the back up vocals, which are far more melodious than those of the lead singer's. In this punk rock fixture, it is reminiscent of the Buzzcocks, who also had a heavy focus on the background vocals. This sub-style is noticeable in their singles "Try Honesty" and "River Below." Billy Talent is definitely going somewhere, but the maturity they acquire will dictate where
